Real Betis has won four major awards in history: the Spanish national title in 1935 and the Copa del Rey in 1977, 2005 and 2022. In 2005, Real Betis was the first Andalusian club to participate in the UEFA Champions League.

Betis has a long-standing rivalry with city neighbours Sevilla FC. The two have met 139 times in official competitions, with Sevilla having a 47% victory over Betis (29%). The first match between the two clubs took place on 8th February 1915, with Sevilla winning 4-3. Real Betis’ matches against Sevilla FC are known to be some of the most exciting in Spanish football.
